Wireless Bluetooth Speaker & Sound Bar Gaming Computer Speaker

read this if you are considering getting this speaker! this is a pretty good product. it overall is good but has some drawbacks to it. I would've rated this 3 stars but it is $50 so it is what I expected/a little better than what I expected for $50.

(btw this won't say verified purchase because I bought it on Amazon and it's not on Amazon anymore so I'm reviewing it here)

I am 14 and use this speaker for gaming and watching YouTube on my PC and on my Xbox. the sound quality is very crisp for a $50 speaker and it sounds very good when I'm gaming and listening to music.

disclaimer: keep the speaker volume under 8, it sounds a little distorted if turned up higher (again, what I would expect from a cheap speaker). if you need to turn it up just turn your volume in Windows up.

one of my favorite things about this speaker: it's so easy to use. you literally just plug it in and turn it on. no drivers, updates, or software needed.

my main concern is with the Bluetooth audio. when I use Bluetooth audio is sounds very very very bad, but I think that might just be a problem with my speaker because it says some random gibberish on the screen when it's connected with Bluetooth instead of actually saying "bt", which it should.

this smoothly leads into my next point. this isn't a big downside, just something to be aware of when buying this. the speaker never shows the time. it either shows "line" or "bt", depending on what it's using to connect to your device. on the pictures it shows the speaker telling the time, so this is a little disappointing. not a deal breaker by any means though.

one great unnoticed thing about this speaker: the timer. there is a stopwatch on this speaker which I use alot. I use it alot so that I can keep track of how long I've been gaming for so that I can get off if I see that I've been on for more than an hour or two.

CONCLUSION: this is a great speaker for the price. would not recommend anything else for this price because I have tried 2 or 3 other speakers at about the same price. the sound quality is very very crisp if you keep the speaker volume under 7 or 8. however, if you're looking to use it with bluetooth, you will be disappointed (I am still unsure if it is just a problem with my speaker, though). oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the rgb looks great. I just keep it on the cycle through the colors.

I received the TT-SK027 as a Christmas gift last year (2019). It fits perfectly resting between my two 24" monitors that I use with my laptop. I love the LED lighting and it has good sound especially for being so small and for the price. I think it's a good value.

The main game I play is Star Citizen, and oddly when I tried to use the soundbar while playing that game it would display an error on the speaker (looks like 51P1 but the P has no top) and no sound would come out. When I closed the game, the error would go away and I could play music again with no problems. I kind of just lived with it and only used it to play music since then, but recently I started using some audio/video streaming software called OBS, and when I had it open that same error would show up and there was no sound. Closed OBS, error went away and sound was back.

I sent an email to Taotronics support with a picture of the error on the speaker, their initial suggestion unfortunately didn't fix the problem. After another email or two, they asked for a video to better understand the issue, which I sent over along with the Amazon order ID from the person who gifted it to me. The next response I got was that they would like to send me a replacement and requested my shipping information. That was Sunday night and today (Thursday) I got the replacement in the mail.

Although I had some issues, they were limited and in all other ways the speaker performs really well especially for the size and cost. What really stood out to me however is how pleasant it was to work with their support. Too often I find that it takes days to get even an initial response from support and then I'll get the runaround, having to try countless things that don't end up fixing the problem. With Taotronics, it was a little slow working with them since I did it over email, but I did receive a response the same day on my first email and also after every one of my replies. I didn't feel like I was asked to do pointless steps and they honored their product by sending me a replacement which arrived quickly.

I would give 4 stars already for just the speaker, but with my experience working with their support I definitely feel this it deserves 5 stars. I will definitely look at Taotronics products in the future because I know that even if there is an issue they will take care of me.
